New and straightforward cover for Krampe tippers

In many countries new traffic legislation on securing loads on trailers will soon call for protection of loads such as silage in transit. This means that drivers will have to cover the load before they set out for the silage clamp. Some tarps are very difficult to handle on very long trailers.

For this reason, Krampe offers a well-designed solution that allows drivers to place a cover over the trailer body without getting off the tractor. These covers from VBK are made of two high-quality and full-length mesh screens that are laid on top of the load and folded down flat against the outer sides during loading and unloading. Operated hydraulically from the cab, the covers close and open safely, conveniently and quickly in no more than 15 seconds.

The two motors are installed on the headboard and a standard-fit safety switch ensures the tailgate will not open when the covers are on the load.

The mesh screens are held in sturdy frame constructions and are flexible enough to expand and adapt to e.g. the crop heap. When open and down, they do not increase the trailer’s statutory 2.55 m total width. When closed they overlap 200 mm with extra strong rubber lips providing good seal.

The first few covers have already been fitted and will certainly make life easier for operators during the harvest of the first cut.
