Hydraulic wheel drive creates a higher propulsive force off-road
New wheel drive increases traction and convinces customers during field tests

The powerful combination of a tractor and a tipping trailer is an efficient solution in the competitive construction branch for many contractors. Compared to regular Dumpers those vehicles have an excellent ground protection, are maneuverable and beyond that, they are allowed to drive on public roads without a specific authorization. Moreover, tractors are more flexible regarding the fields of operation; therefore, they offer an additional benefit.

Krampe is able to equip the Halfpipe HP 20 with a hydraulic wheel drive to increase the off-road mobility. The first axle of the tipping trailer for earth works is tooled up with wheel hub motors, they create additional propulsive force. This system improves the traction significantly.

In contrast to the first version holding two overdrives, the new one holds just one overdrive which enables a stepless speedup. With the help of corresponding control slide, parameters such as power and speed can be regulated later, if needed.
The new drivetrain is equipped with an additional starting aid, which can be cut in although the breaks are in operation. This fact simplifies hill-starting vastly. A new smaller control device makes working convenient and extra control panels with a complemental safety shutdown optimise the system.

The new generation of the hydraulic wheel drive convinces Krampe customers in recent weeks during field tests. The hydraulic wheel drive is applicable in agricultural, forestry, in civil engineering and road and construction work. It provides crucial benefits:

· Minor power requirements regarding the tractor unit

· Higher traction off-road

· New application areas due to higher off-road mobility

· Less ballast and therefore higher payload

· Less fuel consumption due to less ballast and a smaller tractor unit

· Higher starting torque mainly under difficult conditions

· Freewheel at higher speeds

· Designed for overrun as well as traction mode

· Temporary addition of traction aids via button

· Automatic disconnection when applying the brake

· Active drivetrain directly at the weight point
· Less net weight compared to mechanically all-wheel drive axle

The radial piston motor matches a numerous rim diameter, can be delivered with diverse types of brakes and was mounted to pendle axle units so far. They are very easy to pull; this is a crucial benefit, which makes the difference whether the vehicles stuck in the heavy terrain or get a pass.
