THL 21 L Carrier
The well-proven vehicles of the Carrier range are designed to meet the highest demands. Based on an ingenious modular system, they have a firmly specified high-quality standard equipment and are usually available ex stock. Technical changes may be carried out in a limited scope.
Chassis: Chassis made of large-volume rectangular tube 300 x 100 mm/ drawbar for low hitch position with flanged 80 mm ball head coupling/ hydraulic support foot with double acting ram, 6/2 way valve to combine support foot <> hydraulic container locking device/ brand-new roll-off tipper from truck sector/ the special design of the roller frame ensures a low construction and a lower centre of gravity/ well-proven and fully developed running gear with pneumatic suspension, very good driving characteristics, excellent engine smoothness, two-bladed pull rods and large air bellows ensure a height driving stability and minimise lateral rolling motions/ securing cables/ BPW axles with automatic slack adjusters (ASA)
Body: VDL hooklift system (roll-off tipper); hydraulic oil supply from the tractor unit, only three double-acting control units are required 1st function: pick-up or tip container, 2nd function: push container forwards or backwards, 3rd function: lock container hydraulically/ operating pressure 200 bar/ safety control controlled by sensors
Operating principle: When picking-up or tipping the container, the air bellows of the trailer are being deflated, the chassis lowers automatically and supports itself on the rear axle. This results in four advantages: The pick-up angle is reduced, the lifting capacity is increased, the negative tongue load at the drawbar is being minimised and the stability improved. The standard push arm of the hooklift system ensures additionally a low pick-up angle and enables the transport of differently long containers.
